Military Connected Students
The Aerospace Valley has a rich military history, and Edwards AFB, the valley’s largest employer, is the world headquarters of flight test. Academies of the Antelope Valley is a proud supporter of our active and veteran families, and we strive to serve their unique needs.
We ask that you let us know that you are a military-connected family through our enrollment paperwork or by calling the office at (661) 943-3031. Our registrar, Ms. Delgado, can answer questions for families who have arrived from another state, and our counselor, Mr. Myles, can help you understand California’s educational system including the requirements for high school graduation and A-G requirements for application to a California State University (CSU) or the University of California (UC). Virtual Academy’s fully online, asynchronous program is an option for families who receive transfer orders to another base within California. Students can continue to take a range of rigorous Advanced Placement courses, business classes, computer science, and more.
Our principal, Dr. Glatfelter, served as an honorary commander at Edwards AFB from 2015 to 2017. The Society of Experimental Test Pilots (SETP) invites a small group of our students to their annual symposium, where they learn first-hand about cutting-edge innovations in flight test. We are proud of our history, and we are excited to build the future for our students.
To all of our military-connected families, thank you for your service! If there is any way in which we can support you, please give us a call at (661) 943-3031.
