I am looking forward to another incredible school year! My goal is to inspire and encourage students and staff to be the best they can be in and out of the classroom, and to partner with parents in supporting their children to accomplish their life goals. I began working for the Antelope Valley Union High School District as a teacher in September of 1999. My experience in the classroom was so rewarding, I began to have a desire to impact teachers, staff and systems in order to support our students and community. After working in administration at multiple school sites across the valley I was given the privilege of working as the Principal of Academies of the Antelope Valley in July of 2018. I grew up in Covina, California and received my B.S. from Azusa Pacific University. After moving to the Antelope Valley with my wife in 1999 to start a family, I received my teaching credential and Masters in Educational Administration from California State University of Bakersfield. As a father of 3 (2 in high school 1 in middle school), I believe in the future of our students and care passionately about the education we provide. I am always amazed by our students, colleagues and families and I feel grateful to work with such incredible people to help every child at AAV ignite their personal genius!

Welcome to Virtual Academy. I began my career in education as an AVID tutor, and after earning my Bachelor's degree in English at UC Irvine, and my Teaching Credential from Cal State San Marcos, I went on to teach English and AVID at Palmdale High School. During my years at Palmdale High, I advised clubs, organized school activities, and earned my Master's in Education Administration at Cal State Bakersfield. I love teaching and I was excited to transition into administration so that I could partner with teachers, staff, and parents to support student learning and growth school-wide. I come to work every day to participate in an educational community where students feel safe and prepared to challenge themselves academically as they navigate their path to adulthood.
