Schools

The Antelope Valley Union High School District serves 23,000 students in the cities of Lancaster and Palmdale, as well as the surrounding areas. Our District includes eight traditional high schools, SOAR - an early college high school on the Antelope Valley College campus, Virtual Online School for 7th-12th grade students, Academy Prep Junior High for 7th and 8th grade students, Antelope Valley Adult Education and three alternative high schools.

Academics

The foundation for future success starts with a high school diploma. AVUHSD Academics guides students through a robust curriculum designed to meet minimum graduation requirements, while heavily emphasizing the completion of A-G requirements to keep all options open for the University of California (UC) and California State University (CSU) systems.

Community

AVHS provides an academically rigorous learning environment that promotes creativity and builds meaningful relationships in order to develop complex critical thinking skills necessary to be successful in the 21st century

The AV District Experience

The Antelope Valley Union High School District serves a unique blend of 22,000 urban, suburban, and rural students in one of our eight comprehensive high schools, three alternative high schools, and an early college high school in partnership with Antelope Valley Community College. Our focus has shifted from purely academic to teaching the whole student.
